The Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh visited Israel on November 6 & 7. This was the first high level visit from India after the new government took office in India.


Homeland security has emerged as a promising area of bilateral cooperation. During his visit, the Home Minister held meetings with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Moshe Ya'alon and Public Security Affairs Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch. In his meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Home Minister expressed satisfaction at the growth in bilateral ties in a range of areas and said that said that the future emphasis should be to build a hi-tech partnership befitting the two leading knowledge economies. He invited the Israeli industry to 'Make in India' by taking advantage of the new investment friendly policies of the government.  All the meetings were held in a very friendly atmosphere and both sides emphasized the importance of the bilateral relationship to each country.


The Home Minister was accompanied by a delegation of senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
